Prayer is one of the most sacred components in our relationship with God. Prayer is our communication directly to God. In Hebrews 4:16 (KJV), it says: "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."

The word "pray, or prayer," in the Greek translation is tepillah. This word means to "make a request," which when referring to asking God is translated "prayer." In addition, the Greek word euchomai means "to pray to God," or "I would or could wish," and to indicate that prayer is involved (Vine, 1999, p. 284-285).

When we approach God for a wanting, need, and in asking for entreaty, we must always addressed and render to God His holy honor and supplications (Philippians 1:4).

Prayer Consulting Room -

- Prayer if adhered to, will open up the "well-springs" of God's bountiful blessings.

- Prayer has effectiveness, and the application and "study of prayer" is only brought to life by its practice.

In the book of St. Luke, Chapter 11 and verse 1 it says:

"and it came to pass, that as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples."

- The "I" prayer is a learned behavior.

 

 

- The Christian prayer is a lifestyle {I Thessalonians 5:15-18}, we are to pray without ceasing, and praying is a learned behavior.

- Prayer should involve the whole person (mind, body, spirit) or wholistic care.

"And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."

(I Thessalonians 5:23)

"Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth."

(III John 1:2)

"What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." (I Corinthians 6:19-20)

The Trichotomy of Man

Body - outer man
Sight, smell, touch, taste, hear, physical drives

Mind - inner man
The soul, will, emotions

Relates to the Spiritual World, the God consciousness, where the Holy Ghost/Spirit dwells, where the leading of intuition resides, and the hearing of God's voice

I Thessalonians records for our learning in Chapter 5, and verse 23:

"And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Treatment Prayer Clinic -

Prayer is not a magical way of grabbing only what you need from God, however it encompasses:

- Asking God to give you what He wants for you, rather than,

- Demanding from Him what you want.

God uses prayer to teach individuals:

- To depend on Him, and

- To tune our desires and wishes to His will.

 

What...Would...Jesus...Do? (WWJD)

Christians should pray in Christ's name, "JESUS" because it brings power:

St. Matthew 7:7-11

St. John 14:13-14

St. John 15:7 and 16

St. John 16:23-24

-Prayer is not an automatic activity in the life of the believer, however, the method must be learned and put into perpetual practice.

-Prayer is our most powerful "spiritual weaponry," which is not carnal, however, supernaturally mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds (II Corinthians 10:4-5).

The enemy is a master at using our ignorance as an effective tool to destroy our walk with the Lord. This occurs when:

-We do not pray, you remain ignorant of the sound of the Lord's voice,

-We do not pray, we are hindered from, and of his provision and care,

-We do not pray, we are hindered from, and of his specific direction of your life.

Crisis Prayer Clinic | Issue of Prayer Abortion-

-Aborting prayer causes isolation from blessings and guarantees the continued dominance of carnality…. and our spiritual demise.

-Consistency in prayer is not the easiest course to follow, it takes practice and commitment.

-Failure to develop a consistent prayer life will certainly "doom" all other aspects of your walk and your work for God.

-To succeed in your prayer life "opens new territory" for spiritual adventures. There will be no limits, except for the ones you set.

-Spiritually Barren or Bareness, is without covering or fruit

-Take a moment, to ask God to give you a "Praying Spirit,"

-Ask him to "accept your application" to the school of prayer,

-Ask the Lord to use this prayer clinic to "open the gateway" to your spirit.

God will answer your request!

Acts 3:1

"Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour."

(This means early in the morning about 6:00 A.M.)

Psalm 55:17

"Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice."
(King David had 24 hours prayer coverage, about every 8 hours he prayed)

I Timothy 2:1

"I EXHORT therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men."

(Remember the songs: "Sweet Hour of Prayer and Have a little talk with Jesus")

Tips for wholeness in your prayer life:

Create a "heart moving" prayer,

Maintain a tear stained altar-wetting prayer,

Allow temporary discomfort(s) "Don't care if knees are hurting prayer,"

Deliver a "heaven moving" prayer,

Send a "hell shaking" prayer,

Experience a re-birth or "revival birthing" prayer,

Permit a "soul-flaming" prayer,

Accept a "joy restoring" prayer.

-Where has spirit of pray gone?

-Sometime the spirit of apathy can sets in, and will rob individuals of his or her prayer time in life, because sometimes individuals become too busy to pray.

-Prayerlessness can be dangerous, and is a "warning sign" like a sign or symptoms of a disease process, or plague, that can led to spiritual demise.

Focus and Order Comes from God-

-It makes God's will a priority,

-It can be the first thing you do in your life daily,

-It promotes self-improvement

-You become a living disciple, that can help set things in order or help you to develop maturity as a Christian.
