Christian Counseling  (Clinical/Pastoral)

General Information-

LCCOC practices professional Christian counseling services, providing the efficiency needed for the community, and individuals, needing Christ-center or Biblical counsel/guidance. We use the Biblical-based model for the counseling approach with a documented achieved success rate of 90% plus positive Christian counseling outcomes using the Arno Profile System {APS} method. We integrate spiritual content providing comprehensive session-by-session Biblical counseling, and education with the emphasis of your in-born temperament (Genesis 1:1 and Psalms 139:13-16), and always beginning, and ending with prayer. Sessions are led, governed, and orchestrated by the Spirit of God as well as possessing a basic structured systematic approach, and therapeutic method.

LCCOC's modality of practice/service includes: individual, pre-marital, martial, family, group, crisis, and general counseling to the community. With a team of staff (directors, qualified counselors, pastors, and ministers), there is individualized counseling as deemed necessary for each client/counselee. Strict confidentiality is practiced throughout the counseling center/offices/groups session, etc. for clients. Information that the client/counselee gives to the counselor is strictly confidential and will not be broken. Thus, it is clearly understood among staff, the legalities, and pastoral privileges that must be explored, based on organizational (doctrinal) belief in using judgments to utter or hold personal information that will be disclosed to him, her, or them in the time of crisis and interventions, etc.  LCCOC's counselors are trained, equipped, and consecrated to minister to each family, client, individual, and counselee(s).

Counselors guide, instruct, mutually exchange ideas, using cognitive therapy, opinions with discussion, and deliberation. They give Biblical advice resulting from such an exchange of information and resources. Our Christ-centered counselor(s) are someone who is not merely attempting to provide assistance during any condition, situation, crisis, etc. needing guidance in the life of a believer, but assist the believer to do the will have God in the midst of their situation, learning strengths, and weaknesses.

Counselees will be able to "learn" the appropriate decision, attitude, behavior, or action skill, in his or her situation. The counselee is ensured of constant prayer and assistance by the counselor, which vary from secular counseling. The counselee will draw from the Christ-centered counselor who will need instructions and guidance at that time, with emphasis on Philippians 2:5 where it says: "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus."

There is professional data collection, identifying of client problems, planning, implementation, interventions, and evaluations of plans. There is wholistic approaches (body, mind and spirit) met for all client's wellbeing and any referrals as deemed necessary-- e.g., Faith Community Nurse (FCN), Parish Nurse (PN), Health Minister/Nurse (HM), Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), Community/Public Health Nurse (PHN), or his or her private M. D., etc.

Clinical and pastoral counseling is done from the perspective of the Bible, embracing biblical truth. Clinical and pastoral counselors are advocates, educators, and a resource in assisting further understanding of the "Word of God," to man, and his world.

His or Her Temperament
"Who God created you to be"

"Creation Therapy is a comprehensive study of temperament, which is the inborn part of man, placed there by God, which determines how we react to people, places, and things. It pinpoints our perspective of ourselves and the people who are significant in our lives. It determines how well we handle the stresses and pressures of life. When one is conceived in his or her mother's womb, the unique temperament is placed within us by the "order of God" (SACC, 2013, p. 1).

"In the beginning God created..."
Genesis 1:1
"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
Psalms 139:13-14
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart, I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."
Jeremiah 1:5

(SACC, 2013, p. 1).
